Market Study

To build on previous WAPP initiatives on loss reduction, GOPA engaged Arthur Energy Advisors (AEA) to facilitate a roundtable for ECOWAS member distribution utilities, providing training on performance indicators and sharing best practices for improving operational performance. The program included presentations by AEA on objectives, key activities, sector and project performance indicators, monitoring systems, data quality, and cost-effective data collection, as well as WAPP’s overview of regional electricity market challenges. Participating utilities presented their performance indicators, targets, strategies for loss reduction, and project forecasts for 2019–2021. The exercise also covered the development of bankable projects, Consultant support, and collection of historical and forecasted loss data to track the impact of implemented initiatives.
