AEA was contracted by Cenpower, owner and operator of the 351 MW Kpone Independent Power Plant (KIPP), to develop a comprehensive Decommissioning Management Plan covering both planned and unplanned shutdown scenarios in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

The assignment involved reviewing key project documents, including the Environmental Impact Assessment, OEM manuals, and Biodiversity Management Plan; preparing a detailed asset recovery and materials disposition strategy (including recycling, refurbishment, and sale of equipment); outlining decommissioning activities for major plant components; assessing the adequacy of existing safety and site security arrangements to support implementation; and evaluating the overall decommissioning programme with a cost and revenue summary.
