Establishing the WAPP Project Implementation Entity (PIE) for Interconnection Project

In 2008, ECOWAS Heads adopted Special Purpose Companies (SPCs) to implement regional transmission projects, including WAPP’s 742 km, 225 kV interconnection line. AEA advised on establishing a Single Project Implementation Entity (SPIE), defining the most suitable entity structure and preparing a draft agreement among the participating countries.
