Arthur Energy Africa Announces Leadership Transition
February 16, 2026Ing. Jabesh Amissah-Arthur, Managing Partner of Arthur Energy Africa and Board Chairman of the Volta River Authority, has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ghana Energy Awards 2025.
This prestigious recognition celebrates more than four decades of leadership and service in Ghana’s and West Africa’s power sector.
Ing. Amissah-Arthur began his engineering career in 1979 on the Kpong Hydroelectric Project and went on to serve in key technical and executive roles at the Volta River Authority. He later became Chief Executive of the Bui Power Authority, where he led the delivery of the landmark 400MW Bui Hydropower Project from construction through commissioning.
Over the years, he has contributed to national and regional energy reforms, infrastructure development, and strategic negotiations across West Africa. His work has strengthened utility performance, advanced power sector governance, and supported large-scale infrastructure investments.
This Lifetime Achievement Award recognises a distinguished career defined by operational excellence, strategic leadership, and lasting impact on Africa’s energy landscape.
