Co-Founder and Executive Partner of Arthur Energy Advisors, Ing. Harriette Amissah-Arthur, has been adjudged the 2022 Female Energy Personality of the Year at the 6th edition of the prestigious Ghana Energy Awards in Accra.<\/p>\n
After several nominations in previous events, she beat several other competitors in the category this year to emerge a winner. With a career spanning over 35 years, Ing. Harriette Amissah-Arthur is the first Ghanaian female KNUST-trained electrical engineer, the first female to work in a VRA power plant, and the first President of the Women in Engineering (WinE) Ghana. She is considered one of the first batches of Ghanaian female engineers.<\/p>\n
As a passionate entrepreneur, pragmatic engineer, and astute troubleshooter, she has vast experience in power system operations, development work, and entrepreneurial skills, and has led several teams to provide world-class solutions to a number of public and private sector clients in the energy sectors across the ECOWAS sub-region.<\/p>\n
She has worked in various strategic and senior roles at the Volta River Authority (VRA), Ghana GRID Company (GRIDCo), and the Kumasi Institute of Technology, Energy and Environment (KITE), prior to becoming the Executive Partner of Arthur Energy Advisors.<\/p>\n
Her work includes contributions to important and critical sector dialogue, supporting women in engineering and energy by giving time and resources to women empowerment platforms; contributing to loss reduction in electricity distribution networks in Ghana and across the West Africa sub-region, promotion of energy efficiency in public and private sectors, supporting energy efficiency in the use of water and energy in agriculture.<\/p>\n
Under her leadership, Arthur Energy Advisors has provided independent expert advice to several investors, including existing utilities, new entrants, and repeat investors. Some of these projects include third-party grid verification, technology-based technical and commercial loss reduction project in the ECG system, installation of mini-grids for island communities, and contributing to the implementation of the Solar Corridor.<\/p>\n
She has also collaborated with a number of national and international organizations to design, fundraise for and implement projects across West Africa.<\/p>\n
Ing. Harriet Amissah-Arthur is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE).<\/p>\n
